Panic Reading Mode: Activated!

Okay, let's be real. I'm in full-blown panic mode. The year is almost over, and my reading goal of 30 books is staring me down like a hungry wolf. I'm currently at a measly 21 books. Twenty-one. I know, I know, it's not terrible, but it's definitely not good.

I've been so busy with work, life, and other hobbies (like binge-watching Netflix) that I've completely neglected my beloved books. I've resorted to desperate measures, like reading while I eat, read while I shower, and even read while I'm supposed to be working.

My Reading Strategy: A Hail Mary Pass

  1. Power Reading: I'm skimming chapters, skipping descriptions, and basically doing whatever it takes to get to the end of a book. It's not ideal, but hey, desperate times call for desperate measures.
  2. Audiobook Marathon: I've been listening to audiobooks at double speed while I'm doing chores, driving, and even sleeping. It's a bit chaotic, but it's getting the job done.
  3. The "One More Chapter" Trap: I've been falling victim to this classic time-sucker. I tell myself, "Just one more chapter," and before I know it, it's 3 AM and I've read half a book.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to reach my goal, but I'm going to give it my all. Wish me luck! And if you see me frantically flipping through a book at the grocery store, please don't judge me. I'm just trying to save my reading streak.

Have you ever been in a similar situation? How did you manage to catch up on your reading goal?
