It's officially October, which means we're this close to the end of the year. And for me, that means it's crunch time for my reading challenge! I set a goal of 30 books this year, and while I'm not quite there yet, I'm feeling pretty confident that I'll make it.
But let's be real, it hasn't been easy. There have been plenty of times when I've felt overwhelmed by my TBR pile, or just plain unmotivated to pick up a book. But I've managed to stay on track by setting small, achievable goals, taking breaks when I need them, and most importantly, reminding myself why I love reading in the first place.
So far, I've read a mix of mystery, thrillers, and romance. It's been a wild ride, to say the least! I've been transported to different worlds, solved intricate puzzles, and fallen in love with fictional characters.
One of my favorite mysteries I've read this year is The Only One Left by Riley Sager. The twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end, and the characters were so well-developed that I felt like I knew them personally.
On the thriller front, I've been loving The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. The suspense was so intense that I couldn't put it down. And the ending was completely unexpected.
For romance, I've been enjoying Regretting You by Colleen Hoover. It was a heart-wrenching tale of love, loss, and the complexities of family.
As for next year, I'm thinking about increasing my goal to 40 books. But I'm also going to be more mindful of the quality of my reads. I want to make sure I'm not just rushing through books to meet a number. I want to savor each one and really appreciate the stories I'm reading.
So, here's to the final three months of the year! I'm excited to see how many books I can finish and what new adventures I'll discover along the way. And who knows, maybe I'll even inspire a few of you to join me on my reading journey.
