The Great TBR Pile Showdown
So, I've finally landed my dream job: working from home. I can wear pajamas all day, drink as much coffee as I want, and theoretically, have all the time in the world to read. But let me tell you, my TBR pile has never looked so daunting.
I thought being a work-from-home warrior would mean I could finally tackle that monstrous stack of books. Boy, was I wrong. Turns out, just because I'm not commuting to an office doesn't mean I'm not busy.
There's the constant barrage of emails, the endless Zoom meetings, and the never-ending stream of Slack notifications. It's like a digital hurricane constantly blowing through my day. And whenever I think I've finally managed to clear my inbox, another wave of emails comes crashing down.
Then there's the whole "work-life balance" thing. I used to think that working from home would make it easier to separate work from play. But apparently, my brain doesn't know the difference. It's like it's on a constant loop, switching between work mode and relaxation mode every few minutes.
And let's not forget about the distractions. My apartment is so clean, it's almost sterile. Every surface is spotless, and there's not a speck of dust to be found. But even in the cleanest of environments, distractions can still find a way to creep in. My mind seems to have a mind of its own, constantly wandering off to think about the latest episode of my favorite show or the delicious-sounding recipe I saw on Instagram.
So, here I am, surrounded by a towering TBR pile, staring at my computer screen, trying to figure out how to balance work, life, and my reading goals. It's like trying to juggle a chainsaw, a plate of spaghetti, and a kitten.
Any tips for staying productive and focused while working from home? And how do you manage your TBR pile in the midst of a busy life?
